Statement on "Pathetic" Attempt to Derail Living Wage (10/5/11)

RWDSU President Stuart Appelbaum has issued a statement in the wake of Mayor Bloomberg's flawed study on Living Wage.

"This is a desperate attempt to derail much-needed living wage legislation that many thousands of New Yorkers are urging the City Council to pass," Appelbaum said.

"Instead of investing in the creation of good jobs, the mayor continues to waste taxpayer money on pathetic propaganda that was discredited months ago. What the mayor should really study is his own failure to rebuild the middle class and reduce inequality. The poverty epidemic causing so much suffering in this city is the direct result of his failed policies."
