Nebraska Drivers Win Improvements (11/30/09)

Truck drivers and distribution employees at Deans Foods in Lincoln, Nebraska, have ratified a new three-year pact. The new contract gives the Local 1808 members there numerous improvements.

Wages will increase $2.30 over the life of the agreement, and there will be increases in safety shoes and uniforms allowance. The first year health and dental premiums have been frozen and there are increases in short term disability weekly payments and pension and meal allowances. In addition, the contract creates funeral leave improvements and cell phone reimbursements.
