RWDSU Endorses Anthony Weiner for NYC Mayor (6/13/05)
Stuart Appelbaum, President of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union announced today that the union has endorsed Anthony Weiner for Mayor of New York City.

“Members of the RWDSU have seen firsthand Anthony Weiner’s deeply held
commitment to making this city a better place for all working people,”
said RWDSU President Stuart Appelbaum. “He stood up to Wal-Mart and
helped stop that low-road, anti-worker retailer from opening in Rego
Park Queens. He has been steadfast in his support to bring a fair and
decent contract to the workers at Duane Reade. No one will fight harder
for the working men and
women of New York City than Anthony Weiner.”
Congressman Weiner said, “I am honored by the support of the 45,000 men and women of the RWDSU. These are the people I am fighting for in this campaign and will fight for in City Hall. I come from where they come from. I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with Stuart Appelbaum and the men and women of the RWDSU as we take back City Hall for New York City's working people."
