Mott's Workers Ratify Agreement (4/29/07)

In 1842, the Mott's company was founded in Bouckville, NY, where Samuel Mott produced apple cider and vinegar with the help of hitched horses that crushed apples and primitive machinery that helped refine the juices.
Today, 120 miles away in Williamson, NY, 325 RWDSU Local 220 members work at the Mott's plant producing a much wider array of products with new equipment. In April, the workers ratified a new three-year agreement. The contract raises wages and protects the health care benefits of the members who work at the plant while also lowering members' health care coverage cost.
The contract also raises the company contributions to the retirement plan, provides greater flexibility in vacation scheduling, and improves seniority rights for members when picking jobs.
Besides Mott's famous apple products, RWDSU members at the plant also produce Mr. & Mrs. T Drink Mixes.
