Benefits Clear With new Pearl Vision Contract (6/11/07)

A new three-year agreement with Pearle Vision, Inc., protects health care benefits, raises wages, and creates other new benefits for over 200 Local 108 members who work at Pearle Vison stores throughout New Jersey.

The company will pay for increases in the health benefits premiums over the course of the contract.
"We have a great health plan, and I'm really happy that the co-pay hasn't increased," says Juwan McPherson, a Local 108 member who works at the Paramus store.
The new agreement also allows members to participate in the company 401K plan.
"I'm excited about enrolling in the 401K plan," said Nicole Marletta, who works at the Springfield store. "The company is matching my contributions dollar for dollar up to 3 percent of my salary."
The agreement also creates a complimentary eyewear and merchandise discount program.
The company has changed hands numerous times, and is now owned by Luxottica Retail Group.
"Throughout these changes, Local 108 members have stood strong and secured a good contract," said Local 108 President Charles N. Hall, Jr.
