No-Cost Health Care Secure at Newago Public Schools (7/17/07)

A new contract covering 120 employees of the Newago Public School system in Newago, a city in northern Michigan, was ratified by members of RWDSU Local 386. The new contract secures the workers' health care plan, without any additional expenses. The health care plan does not require any contributions from workers. The negotiating committee was also able to beat back a push by management to cut jobs.

Local 386 members at Newago Public Schools work as bus drivers, cooks, cleaners, aides and secretaries.
