Morale High at Sudbury Downs Picket Lines (8/9/07)

As the strike against Sudbury Downs race track moves into its second week, over 60 striking RWDSU members continue to keep their heads high and their determination strong, according to Northern Joint Council President Derik McArthur.
"The morale remains high on the picket lines," McArthur said. "Traffic is way down inside, with many regular customers respecting the picket lines."
The union is attempting to establish a new set of negotiations with the company, hoping to end a strike brought on by the management's refusal to bargain in good faith over issues like medical care, wages, and seniority rights.
