House Passes Children's Health Bill (9/26/07)

The House passed an expansion of the children's health insurance
program yesterday, moving the bill one step closer toward passing
Congress and a showdown with President Bush over a potential veto.

The bill would expand the children's health insurance program to
cover an additional four million children. That would bring the total
of children enrolled in the program to over 10 million. The
overwhelming majority of those on the rolls are in low-income families.
The move would dramatically reduce the number of uninsured American
children, which now stands at 9 million.

The bill now moves on to the Senate, where supporters hope they can
send it to the President with enough votes to override any potential
veto.

Write your Senator and tell them you support the bill.
