Meyersdale Borough Workers Ratify New Pact (9/11/07)
A new 3-year contract ratified by employees of Meyersdale Borough in
Somerset County, Pennsylvania, protects health care and increases
salaries. The members, who are part of Unit D of the RWDSU Allegheny
Regional Joint Board, maintain streets, service water lines and the
sewer plant, and perform clerical work for the Meyersdale Borough.
The workers will receive $.50 hourly raises each year of the contract, and their medical coverage will be secure for the life of the contract. In addition, the pension plan benefits will increase, and the vacation policy is improved. The members now have a total of 14 full-day paid holidays a year.
