Local 1102 Members Graduate From ESL Classes (5/6/08)

Local 1102 members have completed intensive courses in English as a Second Language. Several members have continued their studies by going on to additional and progressively more difficult coursework.

The courses were held at Davis, Trutech, Old London and Modells.

Ryszard Dworakowski who emigrated from Poland, is taking the classes so that he can communicate better with his granddaughter who is now in college, along with co-workers and customers. Bertha Micieli, from Mexico, is thrilled with what she has learned, said, "I see what the union is giving me and the work that they do."
