Ohio Workers Ratify Pact at Norse Dairy Systems (5/3/10)
RWDSU members at Norse Dairy Systems manufacture high end dairy equipment and make paper containers for ice cream. The 60 Local 379 members ratified their new three-year contract by an overwhelming margin.
Members will receive good raises over the life of the contract, and important contract language protecting seniority has been included. There will be no increases in health care cost the first year and only a $2 increase for the next two years. New contract language will guarantee training when member’s jobs are combined and reduced, and members are guaranteed over $5200 for further training costs, with half of this amount paid upfront to help employees move up in the higher skilled jobs.
