Logistical Details, Travel Coupon for the RWDSU Convention (7/22/10)

As the date for the RWDSU Convention quickly approaches, we would like to provide you with some additional information regarding the logistical details of the Convention.  This information is for all delegates, alternates and guests to the RWDSU Convention.

Transportation from the airport to the hotel:  click here to download a discount coupon for shuttle service from the Orlando airport to the Walt Disney Swan Hotel.  You may want to duplicate copies of the coupon for all of your convention participants.

Registration: Delegates, alternates and guests may register Sunday, August 1, from 1 pm to 9 pm, or Monday, August 2, from 7:30 am to 9 am.  Registration will be held at the Satellite Registration Desk across from the Peacock / Lark Foyer.

Banners: We are requesting that locals, joint boards/councils bring their banners to the Convention.  We will display them in the Convention Hall.  As soon as you arrive at the hotel, please bring your banner to the RWDSU Office (which will be located in Lark 2).  If you are bringing a banner, please call Levi Nayman at the RWDSU office in New York and let him know ASAP. Strike Fund Meeting: As we normally do at conventions, there will be a meeting of all locals that participate in the RWDSU Strike Fund on Tuesday, August 3, at 8 am in the Convention Hall.

RWDSU Benefit and Pension Funds: A meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 4, at 8 am in the Convention Hall to report on the funds.  All locals that participate in the funds, as well as those locals that wish to learn more about the funds, are welcome to participate.

Social Functions: The RWDSU will be holding two social events during the Convention:  a cocktail party on Monday evening, August 2, and a dinner on Wednesday evening, August 4.  All delegates, alternates and guests are welcome at these events.  More information will be provided during the Convention.

Memorial Committee Report: We just want to remind you to send us the name, local number and position held in the local of anyone who has passed away since the last Convention, whose name you want included in the Memorial Committee Report.

Don’t forget to bring your duplicate credentials for the RWDSU Convention in Florida. Please bring duplicate credentials to registration which is being held on Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 12 pm to 9 pm and on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 7:30 am to 9 pm.
