RWDSU Delegates Conclude Participation in UFCW Convention (8/22/08)

RWDSU delegates participated throughout the UFCW Convention 

RWDSU Delegates were on hand today in Montreal, Quebec, for the 5th and final day of the UFCW Convention. At today's session, the convention considered and adopted the final batch of resolutions, including Resolution 19 - Merger Agreements.

RWDSU Northern Joint Council President Derik McArthur spoke in favor of the resolution from the convention floor.

"This resolution reinforces our goal of building a stronger union, and we in the RWDSU are proud to support it," McArthur said.

Over the course of the convention, RWDSU delegates were a constant presence on both the floor and on the dais.

"RWDSU members showed their dedication to all aspects of the labor movement and the fight for worker rights," Appelbaum said. "RWDSU delegates were excited to participate in the UFCW Convention and help chart the course of the union for the next five years."
