Supporting Mott’s Workers in Indiana (8/26/10)
Union members came to a Meijer supermarket in Indianapolis to let customers know about Mott’s and Dr Pepper Snapple Group’s outrageous treatment of Mott’s workers.
On Wednesday, a group of union members from a diverse group of international unions came to Indianapolis, Indiana to support RWDSU Local 220 members in their strike against corporate greed. Members of the RWDSU, the UFCW, CWA, USW, OPEIU, Indiana Federation of Teachers, Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons, the Insulator's International Union, Jobs for Justice, the Central Indiana CLC and the President, Secretary-Treasurer and Political Director of the Indiana State AFL-CIO, joined striking Mott’s workers Todd Davis and Kent Knox in passing out informational handbills to shoppers at several stores and supermarkets.
The fliers detailed the situation in Williamson, New York where over 300 RWDSU Local 220 members are on strike against Mott’s, which is seeking to slash wages and benefits despite record profits for the company and its owner, Dr Pepper Snapple Group.
